15:06	Carl Metropolitan	The new version of the ToS has the virtue of being confusing enough that if it ever went to court it would likely be thrown out for vagueness :)

15:11	Carl Metropolitan	I never wrote it up because my power went out just before it started and didn't come back until after it was over.

15:17	Tali Rosca	Well, it's not LL's choice.
15:17	Martini Discovolante	it costs money to rename a region.
15:18	Larkylouz	I doubt LL had much to do with that. The former Spanish sim was never renamed either. It showed up as "Inside Me"
15:18	Carl Metropolitan	I think it is 50USD to do a rename
15:18	Martini Discovolante	that is Brasil.
15:18	Tali Rosca	Inside Me is still active, as far as I recall.

15:20	Martini Discovolante	well considering al the loose sims they have rattling around, you think they could offer up somehtign more appropiate.
15:20	Martini Discovolante	but if the regions was donated , or whatever, i can see not wanting to pay for it.
15:20	Tali Rosca	Not that 50$ is a lot compared to the price of the sim, but it does seem a little... opportunistic.
15:21	Gronk Seriman	The probably never coded for changing names, and some poor sap has to do it manually.
15:21	Martini Discovolante	i think it a bit more of a ding than that.
15:21	Carl Metropolitan	That makes sense. The original SL was not coded for sims owned by anyone other than LL
15:22	Martini Discovolante	part of our discussions as a group was that the help places all run on a shoestring, and every silly cost like that make a huge difference.

15:27	Gronk Seriman	The Caledon Quest starts in the Hall of Caledon. Is there any way to start it at any of the advertizing signs in Oxbridge?

15:28	Martini Discovolante	most references ot the Quest have a SLURl that lands yo in the Hall.
15:29	Martini Discovolante	it is it's own parcel .
15:29	Wordsmith Jarvinen	Yes, The hall has it's own landing point, I believe, so they can TP to the start.
15:29	Carl Metropolitan	Are people having trouble finding the hall of Caledon?
15:29	Martini Discovolante	if people get here otherwise, they must be using the map.
15:29	Carl Metropolitan	And the quest?
15:29	Gronk Seriman	I know I found it when I did it. But so many people se the signs and wonder where it starts.
15:29	Martini Discovolante	i can put in more "to the Quest signs.
15:29	Tali Rosca	Still, if people have trouble doing that, it may make sense to add the quest log giver to the posters?
15:30	Martini Discovolante	or just have them give the LM to the hall of caledon.
15:30	Larkylouz	I do show people where to start on a regular basis, but I think many more show up in the HofC. There is regular traffic through there.

15:33	Tali Rosca	It does make sense to have the Hall as the kickoff point. It lends a certain official feel to it.

15:48	Tali Rosca	Whether they *keep* using them is another matter, but it's certainly what they show up in here.
15:48	Martini Discovolante	ther eis a choise of the classic avatars on signup, but it is not readily apparent.
15:48	Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter)	Mesh avatars do seem to most common but there are newcomers who use the "classic" ones as well.
15:48	Tali Rosca	The avatar selection box *does* have a "Classic" tab, so they are there.

15:49	Gronk Seriman	The mesh avatars are the first group they are presented. You need to skip to the next groups to see the Classic avatars.
15:49	Ivan (ivanvorkosigan)	The Avatars window offers "People", "Vampires" and "Classics". And I see a smattering of vampires, so some notice the choice.
15:49	Martini Discovolante	the sign up page does not rotate the selection type.... you have to notice the buttons, and use them.
15:49	Larkylouz	I think the new materials that are available (the revamped orientation and possibly the Gazette article I refer folks to) are helping. I am not seeing as many folks with screwed up avatars as I was.
15:49	Wordsmith Jarvinen	Without any motivation on why you want to do that, it's not particularly likely.
15:50	Steadman Kondor	i ended up with a classic one in aditi when i wanted to change from a tiny to a normal. it was very easy to find in firestorm

15:50	Martini Discovolante	the problem is usually that they try to weaar bits of both, or remove the invisible avatar, and wind up with SLeprosy
15:51	Meora (menchor)	and they are going to be disappointed if they want to upgrade their mesh avatar since the for sale ones are just coming out
15:51	Tali Rosca	The whole avatar outfitting mechanism is incredibly obscure unless you've been with us for the better part of a decade.

15:56	Gronk Seriman	It's sad. I've almost given up using the Marketplace's Search. I look for the item in Google, and "second life" to the search and look at the images. Bingo!
