Caledon Oxbridge Q&A for 2014-08-03

15:01 Tali Rosca And so we're at it again. Another questions-and-answers session with the Oxbridge Dean Team. As most of you know, we each have our expertise and area of responsibility, as listed here: http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/qna_index.php
15:01 Tali Rosca So let us set to it. Who has the first question?
15:02 Steadman Kondor I heard there are some plans for Sl12B in progress :)
15:03 Tali Rosca And likely for RFL 18
15:03 Steadman Kondor Can Mr Carl let us know of some of these activities?
15:03 Steadman Kondor hehe we are so well prepared here!
15:03 Ravelli Ormstein sadly he isn't around
15:03 Martini Discovolante is Carl here?
15:03 Ravelli Ormstein nope
15:04 Martini Discovolante you might ask him directly
15:04 Tali Rosca I know nothing about it; not even that there were specific plans.
15:04 Steadman Kondor I just heard that Miss Phrynne is collecting pictures for a photo album for the COU site
15:05 Martini Discovolante Carl usually maintains our presence at things like that, adn we give him anything he needs
15:05 Steadman Kondor nods. I'm sure we'll hear more about it closer to the time
15:05 Phrynne Excuse me?
15:05 Phrynne There is a little confusion; I am not working on a COU display for SL12B.
15:05 Tali Rosca Apparently Phrynne hadn't heard that.
15:05 Ravelli Ormstein Phrynne, now you heard it :-)
15:05 Phrynne I am, however, beginning to work on a general Caledonian display.
15:06 Martini Discovolante and all the time we spend squelchign rumors!
15:06 Steadman Kondor Oh! it is possible that I misheard and got interested. Pardon Miss Phrynne
15:06 Phrynne no problem, Mr. Kondor
15:06 Ravelli Ormstein what is this display about, Phrynne?
15:07 Tali Rosca It seems pretty obvious that such a thing could be reused for a birthday site, though, so there may have been a mention that way.
15:07 Phrynne It would be a display of Caledon outside Oxbridge, some of the views, the events, the scenery and so on.
15:07 Martini Discovolante phrynne, perhaps you did not notice everyone else stepping back one pace.
15:07 Phrynne I have spoken to the Guvnah and gotten his approval for it.
15:07 Ravelli Ormstein sounds good
15:07 Larkylouz Yeah! Phrynne
15:07 Steadman Kondor yes :) would be great for a birthday or other site such as VWBPE
15:08 Ravelli Ormstein btw, Miss Phrynne got her Oxbridge tutorship. Congratulations for that!
15:08 Phrynne It would just be an exhibit for SL12B, nothing more. And at this point it is preliminary.
15:08 Steadman Kondor :) congratulations miss phrynne!
15:08 Phrynne thank you
15:08 Larkylouz Yeah! Yeah! Phyrnne. :^)
15:08 Wordsmith Jarvinen Very good. Congratulations, Tutor Phrynne. ;)
15:09 Tali Rosca Other questions?
15:09 Meora (menchor) any report on the airships?
15:10 Martini Discovolante that is a question for Jorge Serapis, i believe.
15:10 Tali Rosca Not *specifically*, though I know Jorge is back in business and looking at those scripts.
15:11 Ravelli Ormstein i have not heard anything about them, and i have not seen them flying in the last days... and i'm not sure if i have seen trains running. but i spent a lot of time exploring this weekend
15:11 Phrynne I was run over by the train while walking here, so I think at least one line is running.
15:11 Tali Rosca That's one way to test it.
15:11 Martini Discovolante trust me, he wants them operational as much as anyone, and has a huge investment in the system.
15:12 Ravelli Ormstein thats good
15:12 Steadman Kondor i hope the train wasn't damaged
15:12 Larkylouz chuckles. "Only in SL."
15:12 lovejoy2199 Three trains line.
15:12 Phrynne the train was in its customary number of pieces both before and after the encounter
15:13 Phrynne :)
15:13 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Some visisotrs have complained that train schedule seems erratic. Personally, I have not really kept track.
15:13 Meora (menchor) Ha ha ha hahahaaa
15:14 Tali Rosca And you complained about me punning earlier...
15:14 Meora (menchor) 56 minutes after the hour here give or take a minute
15:14 Larkylouz The train schedule is part of its charm?
15:14 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) :-)
15:14 Steadman Kondor Part of its Choo-choo-charm
15:15 Wordsmith Jarvinen The trains here are like wizards -- they are never early or late but arrive when they do.
15:16 Lucy Muircastle Be wary of vehicle scripts; they are buggy and hard to light.
15:16 Lucy Muircastle Or something like that...
15:16 Ravelli Ormstein Gandalf said something similar
15:16 Tali Rosca Ok, I think it is time for a new question :-)
15:16 Wordsmith Jarvinen Aye Ravelli, Gandalf did.
15:16 lovejoy2199 Actually, at 'Caledon on Sea', you will find the time for them.
15:17 Martini Discovolante we will be happy to return their ticket price.. have them send all requests to Oxbridge Guardian, in a notecard.
15:17 Martini Discovolante attach a ceegar for faster service.
15:18 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Guardian is still active?
15:18 Larkylouz Ah! The Guardian is not in his customary place because he is now in charge of scheduling? Such a promotion!
15:18 Steadman Kondor now an office desk job
15:18 Larkylouz I hope that office has an air cleaner! Yeesh
15:18 Martini Discovolante he is visiting family in Mauritius
15:19 Ravelli Ormstein he has to send us postcards...
15:19 Ravelli Ormstein btw...
15:19 Martini Discovolante you do not want to see him in a speedo
15:19 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Donlas tunsi putoavansa vaakasuoraan - ja suomuinen käsi tarttui hänen mustaan käteensä.
15:20 Tali Rosca I take it people are not *burning* with questions.
15:20 Ravelli Ormstein in some minutes the towers on the colleges switch on their lights one by one (which is new since yesterday)
15:20 Tali Rosca Any more general topics we should take up for discussion?
15:20 Gronk Seriman Ooo!
15:21 Wordsmith Jarvinen Very nice!
15:21 Steadman Kondor yes, i am planning some works at the COU library
15:21 Gronk Seriman I do have a question.
15:21 Tali Rosca Yes?
15:22 Steadman Kondor pls go first miss seriman
15:22 Gronk Seriman Who is in charfe of the collecton of freebies available on campus?
15:22 Gronk Seriman *charge
15:22 Martini Discovolante me i guess.
15:22 Wordsmith Jarvinen We have a van de Graf to charge them?
15:23 Martini Discovolante many a have been here since the beginning.
15:23 Ravelli Ormstein there are many around, even in the tutorial, some are owned by Carl still, some by me
15:23 Gronk Seriman I was wondering why there are some in the train station, and some in the pagoda behind the train station.
15:23 Martini Discovolante because soem could not be moved.
15:23 Wordsmith Jarvinen Welcome, Carl.
15:23 Ravelli Ormstein Aloha Carl
15:23 Martini Discovolante and rather than return them, we left them there
15:24 Carl Metropolitan Hi. I had people over. Took me a bit longer to get out than I thought it would.
15:24 Gronk Seriman When shoeing them to people, I always have to show them the pagoda. there's no sign telling anybody it's there.
15:24 Martini Discovolante some of the makers are long departed in this world and soem in both.
15:24 Ravelli Ormstein the creators placed those freebies by their own
15:24 Martini Discovolante we liek to leave it as a reward for exploring.
15:24 Gronk Seriman Ah!
15:24 Martini Discovolante like the clanks were.
15:25 Carl Metropolitan Freebies are something we could do a better job of, but they are not really a central focus of Oxbridge.
15:25 Gronk Seriman So it's a legacy thing.
15:25 Martini Discovolante it is a nice use of what they have learned , to discover and acquire things liek that.
15:25 Steadman Kondor which does bring to my question though... is there room at the train station for vendor boards at the train station, where proceeds go to COU
15:25 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) I take it putting them into a vendor is not an option?
15:25 Tali Rosca Personally, I think the freebies are a bit of a sore spot. We should keep up with the times.
15:25 Larkylouz There are some nice things at the gazebo. I have a dress from there that I still wear.
15:26 Steadman Kondor or should they all be at the library only
15:26 Tali Rosca But it requires creators to donate them.
15:26 jeremyaawalker I am colossally afraid to interrupt. Is my Kind welcome here?
15:26 Martini Discovolante teh gazebo was here first. the train station came later
15:26 Ravelli Ormstein perhaps we can find sponsors for new freebies
15:26 Carl Metropolitan If we want to have up-to-date freebies, you will find that you need a dean-level person to manage them. It's a big job. I know; I did it at NCI :(
15:26 Wordsmith Jarvinen All are welcome who act civily.
15:26 Tali Rosca You're welcome. This is a general questions-and-answers session, open for all.
15:27 jeremyaawalker Ah. Wonderful.
15:27 Tali Rosca Though some of the topics discussed may be a little specific and require that you know a bit about the area before they make complete sense.
15:27 Lucy Muircastle What does the freebie manager do?
15:27 Wordsmith Jarvinen As to the library, that is Mr. Drinkwater's provence -- a separate parcel.
15:28 Carl Metropolitan We have no power over the library. It's like holy ground and we are vampires :)
15:28 Very old leather fireside chair w 3 fireside, 4 normal sits whispers
(⇞PgUp or ⇟ PgDn ) change your pose. Touch for menu.
15:28 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) And some griefers seem to know that.
15:28 Tali Rosca ...without the bite requests, though.
15:29 Martini Discovolante as Dean of Commons, the free stuffs are part of what i do.
15:29 Ravelli Ormstein i had a chat to Mr Drinkwater some months ago, that i would like to build a new library building from mesh
15:29 Larkylouz Bloody hell, Tali!
15:29 Steadman Kondor ah i mean the kiosk
15:29 Steadman Kondor the gazebo that dean martini spoke of - it has some vendors in there
15:29 Larkylouz crawls under her chair in case to hide.
15:29 Larkylouz hahaha
15:29 Meora (menchor) sends Larky a bite request
15:30 Carl Metropolitan A freebie manager would be responsible for contacting creators and finding freebies, boxing the, maintaining records of permission to use them, seeking out freebies that we can reuse from throughout SL and SL Marketplace, being the point of contact for issues with the freebies, managing any IT system used to distribute them, etc. It can be a huge mess. How Martini handles it now, on a casual basis, is much easier than trying to run a major freebie program.
15:30 Larkylouz Wow! I had no idea it was so complex!
15:30 Tali Rosca All the little things add up.
15:30 Lucy Muircastle That sounds like all the things I would expect.
15:31 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Well, many dedicated freevie sites find it hard to keep up to date...
15:31 Wordsmith Jarvinen I'm assuming Carl speaks from knowledge and experience with how NCI manages freebies.
15:31 Martini Discovolante there are so many freebie places in SL now, it is not really a priority here.... our mission is to teach people to find them on their own.
15:31 Carl Metropolitan Oh--and I forgot--they also have to weed out out-of-date freebies.
15:31 Tali Rosca Though I wouldn't call keeping contact with the creators a "little thing" in the first place.
15:31 Carl Metropolitan So it's a big job to duplicate what other places do better.
15:31 Tali Rosca nods. "I'd much rather have a few high-quality items."
15:32 Carl Metropolitan Yes, Wordsmith. That's correct.
15:32 Martini Discovolante we have the Vicotrian tings here especially, so people exploring here can feel part of Caledon.
15:32 Larkylouz It would be nice to have some up-to-date freebie avatars, at least. That is one of the few places I cringe at Oxbridge, frankly.
15:32 Martini Discovolante or startingn out here, rather.
15:33 Ravelli Ormstein i agree, new freebies would be fine, those which have a usage.
15:33 Martini Discovolante we had to limit the avatars to 30 days or less because of freebie hunters.
15:33 Steadman Kondor There is the balance between offering freebies and encouraging them to buy things from within their explorations here
15:33 Lucy Muircastle Helping new people understand clothes (layers, mesh, etc.) is something important for helpers to do.
15:34 jeremyaawalker Though you had a rather interesting discussion about freebies, I will be brave enough to interrupt it (partially) to ask a question that has probably been asked a million times: is there anything I need to know? ~or~ Is there any place, where I can learn those "slightly-above-basic" concepts without interrupting a massive conversation (sidenote: I have taken a short tour around the basic guides -- found them enjoyable).
15:34 Ravelli Ormstein very true, Miss Muircastle
15:34 Carl Metropolitan Yes. We have classes, Jeremny
15:34 Carl Metropolitan And there are other places that have them too.
15:34 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) You are in the right place for that, Mr Walker.
15:35 Tali Rosca For self-study, I don't really think you'll get much more than the tutorial here. Now it's time to join the classes (they are free), and to pick the brains of the tutors you often find in the sim.
15:35 Wordsmith Jarvinen The schedules are on the wall in here and outside. They are also on our website.
15:35 Wordsmith Jarvinen http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/
15:35 Martini Discovolante and on the board outside under Places to Learn are landmarks to the best places in SL to further your Virtual education.
15:36 AnemoneGX Yifu The introduction to role playing is at 5pm today
15:36 Meora (menchor) and most of us can answer specific questions
15:36 Tali Rosca As for freebies vs. encouraging people to buy, I think that, too, point to a few well-made items to show people what *can* be done.
15:36 Tali Rosca Rather than a barrage to equip them.
15:37 Steadman Kondor nods
15:37 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) whispers Wonderful. Thank you so much, ladies and gentlemen. Out of all the places I've visited, this is so far the most welcoming.
15:38 Steadman Kondor which is why i'm trying to promote the existing program for creators to put in high quality items, in the oxbridge store
15:38 Larkylouz Perhaps a list of Caledon shops that offer a freebie or two along with so many lovely outfits for sale?
15:38 Martini Discovolante and tastes vary so much. folks should learn to find the Second Life that meets their needs.
15:38 Wordsmith Jarvinen Welcoming and getting new avatars started in SL is our basic reason for being here.
15:38 Martini Discovolante we cannot provide it all.
15:39 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) It whispered! (I feel like my grandmother probably does when she uses her new computer.)
15:39 Ravelli Ormstein Larky, we have a list like that, but sadly not that many freebies in Caledon
15:39 Larkylouz No, of course not, Martini, but I think a few well-made freebie avatars would be a very nice thing. Female avatars, especially, look for new clothes first thing.
15:39 Larkylouz Yes, Ravelli? In the faculty packet?
15:40 Carl Metropolitan Thank you Jeremy
15:40 Larkylouz I keep my own set of landmarks, but....
15:40 Wordsmith Jarvinen We all have felt like that in the beginning, Jeremy. SL being an environment rather than a specific game also means it's more complex as well as more flexible.
15:40 Ravelli Ormstein yes, Larky, called "COU Landmarks of Caledon..." - needs to get an update
15:41 Carl Metropolitan My problem with updating that list is Caledon has lost a lot of it's best landmarks :(
15:42 Martini Discovolante indeed.
15:42 Ravelli Ormstein very true
15:42 Larkylouz Ah, of course.
15:42 Larkylouz is changing her name to 'Space Cadet'
15:42 Martini Discovolante thigns change ,people leave adn their art goes with them.
15:43 Tali Rosca You have to learn to see that as a *virtue* of SL, though, not a weakness.
15:43 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) If I knew how to nod, I would definitely do that, Mr. Jarvinen. This place is unarguably an environment, a place for exploration.
15:43 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) (Stated the obvious)
15:43 Carl Metropolitan Of the current poster, the Undersea Ruins, and the Gaiety theatre are now gone.
15:44 Martini Discovolante jeremy, type "/me" without the quotes and the word nods.
15:44 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) nods.
15:44 Larkylouz nods
15:44 Gronk Seriman smiles
15:44 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) Good heavens.
15:44 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) reverses the paradigm of truck-driving ocelots
15:45 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) That felt w o n d e r f u l.
15:45 Martini Discovolante :)
15:45 Phrynne reverses the polarity of the neutron flow
15:45 Tali Rosca Time for another question!
15:45 Martini Discovolante you will ahve fun in the 5pm RP class, if you can stay, Jeremyaawalker
15:45 Wordsmith Jarvinen We, btw, have classes on creating animations and poses.
15:45 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) yells "WHOVIAN!"
15:46 lovejoy2199 Yes. Two simply questions
15:46 Tali Rosca Yes?
15:46 lovejoy2199 One...is there a suggestion box?
15:46 Carl Metropolitan There are a number of Doctor Who roleplay groups in SL
15:46 Carl Metropolitan And some amazing Tardis builds
15:47 Tali Rosca The "Postcard to the Deans" box over by the wall functions as that.
15:47 Ravelli Ormstein points to the mailbox
15:47 Martini Discovolante the Dean's post box, here in this room.
15:47 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) whispers "Phrynne reverses the polarity of the neutron flow"
15:47 Carl Metropolitan There is a Caledon-based time travel RP group, but I think they are loosely based on the old "Time Tunnel" tv show..
15:47 lovejoy2199 Two..Is where a questionare and surrey for questions
15:47 Wordsmith Jarvinen One can drag a notecard onto it ... and it's on its merry way.
15:47 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) That quote
15:48 lovejoy2199 Ohhh...never saw that.
15:48 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) Made me consider the possibility of the existence of such groups, yes.
15:49 Tali Rosca We do have a questionnaire about the overall tutorial experience, but I am not sure if that's what you're looking for?
15:49 Steadman Kondor Dean Rav has been surveying the residents
15:49 lovejoy2199 TY
15:50 Steadman Kondor I forget what means you were using to collect the info dean rav, is that at the end of the tutorials?
15:50 Martini Discovolante new folks, isn't it, Ravelli?
15:50 Ravelli Ormstein the Oxbridge Survey is still up, but meant for those who just finished the tutorial
15:50 Wordsmith Jarvinen Measuring their perimeters, estimating their volume .... wait ... not that kind of surveying.
15:50 Ravelli Ormstein yes, there is a sign at the end of the tutorial
15:50 Martini Discovolante kersnortles.
15:51 Tali Rosca Other topics here by the tail end of the session?
15:51 Steadman Kondor The august edition of the Caledon Oxbridge Gazette is out
15:51 Steadman Kondor http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/gazette/
15:52 Gronk Seriman Woohoo!
15:52 Steadman Kondor Thank you to Miss Larky, Miss Nacht and others for contributing to it!
15:52 Tali Rosca Does that have an RSS feed?
15:52 Wordsmith Jarvinen Congratulations, Steadman.
15:52 Steadman Kondor yes i believe it does
15:52 Carl Metropolitan Oh great. You need to send out a group notice to the Oxbridge Group about that.
15:52 Wordsmith Jarvinen It should. It's wordpress.
15:52 Steadman Kondor Read it for an interview with Dean Rav
15:52 Tali Rosca I'll have to put that in my reader, then, to catch the updates.
15:52 Ravelli Ormstein yes, it has a feed, i subscribed it
15:54 Wordsmith Jarvinen http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/gazette/feed/
15:54 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) To the people, who invited me to the 5 PM class: I would be delighted, but that is, unfortunately, impossible. The paper I work for sent me to do a report in Russia. It's 02.51 around here, I haven't slept for the last few days, and my body is pleading for some sleep. I do, though, hope that chat sessions (like this one) happen often around here.
15:54 Steadman Kondor about 8 articles are 'released' when due - not sure if this messes up how it appears in your feed if you pull it out that way
15:55 Steadman Kondor Yes Mr Jeremy, it's every week the same time here.
15:55 Martini Discovolante Mr Jerem -- our classes are weekly.
15:55 Carl Metropolitan Thank you for coming Jeremy.
15:55 Wordsmith Jarvinen We return every week for this.
15:55 Martini Discovolante you may have tiem to join us at a different time then!
15:55 Wordsmith Jarvinen At least, for the most part weekly.
15:55 Carl Metropolitan Larky--this is a great article!
15:55 Wordsmith Jarvinen Basic Photography will shift to noon next week for the European time crowd.
15:57 Steadman Kondor smiles at Mr carl. Yes, much needed!
15:57 Jeremy Albert Andrew Walker (jeremyaawalker) Every week? Perfect. Cheers to all, and have a great day (or night).
15:57 Larkylouz thank you
15:57 Martini Discovolante Nice to meet you, Mr Jeremyaawalker
15:57 Ravelli Ormstein Bye Mr Walker
15:57 Wordsmith Jarvinen Do come again.
15:58 Tali Rosca Any last question for the final minutes?
15:58 Martini Discovolante two-minute warning.
15:58 Ravelli Ormstein if there is interest, i could spam a link tipp
15:59 Carl Metropolitan Yes, I am shocked at the flagrant display of unclothed ankles on the page three girls in the Gazette!
15:59 Wordsmith Jarvinen Looks like we taught 97 student hours last week.
15:59 Martini Discovolante what is that Ravelli?
15:59 Ravelli Ormstein i found a bookmark in my browser, about a video taken long time ago at Oxbridge. if anyone would like to watch it: http://express.lcc.edu/faculty/holtd/second life orientation--co/second life orientation--co.mp4
15:59 lovejoy2199 Shocking Carl!!!!
15:59 Steadman Kondor fans Mr Carl
16:00 Steadman Kondor Shame the Vicerine isn't here. it was a great idea from her
16:00 Martini Discovolante i am gettign a quicktiem message Rav.. it this red llewellyn's movie?
16:00 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) looks at his hooves with a puzzled expression
16:00 Steadman Kondor And the photo salon were enthused with the challenge too
16:00 Tali Rosca Fashionwise, I can say you have now experienced something you may see perhaps twice a year.
16:00 Tali Rosca Me wearing pink.
16:00 Carl Metropolitan Oxbridge also good a good review in an article on SL in Business Insider this week.
16:00 Tali Rosca Yes, Jeremy?
16:01 Steadman Kondor :) recalled the movie Pretty in Pink
16:01 Carl Metropolitan http://www.businessinsider.com/second-life-today-2014-7?op=1
16:01 Ravelli Ormstein Martini, i don't know the name of the creator, but i know he is a teacher in RL, teaching SL :-)
16:01 Ravelli Ormstein no, not SL, but English by using SL
16:01 Steadman Kondor Yes, Oxbridge was the one positive experience for the newbie journalist :)
16:01 Martini Discovolante oh! new to me! thank you for this link, Rav!
16:01 Steadman Kondor no, all of SL is PDT
16:01 Tali Rosca Day and night cycle can.
16:01 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Number of people have been asking for english classes...
16:01 Steadman Kondor or we call it SLT
16:02 Steadman Kondor Like english speaking classes Mr Elfbiter?
16:02 Steadman Kondor or english grammar etc
16:02 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Classes to learn english.
16:02 Ravelli Ormstein Elf, best way to learn english at Oxbridge is to become a tutor
16:02 Jules Doghouse sl earth is flat
16:02 Tali Rosca But for convenience, people always use Pacific time (where Linden Lab has their offices) when talking about time in SL.
16:02 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) I don't think they could do much tutorial with vocabulary of dozen words.
16:03 Carl Metropolitan Is the new lecture hall going to be placed here, soon?
16:03 Gronk Seriman Just keep an eye on the clock top right of your screen. It's the same for everybody here.
16:03 Ravelli Ormstein blushes
16:03 Tali Rosca Aha! Now we have Rav to answer that question!
16:03 Ravelli Ormstein no, not that, Elf, but by communicating with others
16:04 Ravelli Ormstein the Lecture Hall stills needs some time, i focus on the tutorial these days
16:04 Martini Discovolante first things first!
16:04 Martini Discovolante :)
16:04 Martini Discovolante see you Mr Walker.
16:04 Ravelli Ormstein so i already changed the College of Appearance, and made plans for the College of Motion
16:05 Larkylouz Aren't there places in SL that do offer ESL classes? I think that's way beyond what we can do here. I certainly encourage those individuals who come here and want to practice their English with me or other COU folks.
16:05 Steadman Kondor i'm sure there are , miss larky. after all there are classes fo rgerman and italian and chinese...
16:05 Wordsmith Jarvinen I believe there are, Miss Larky.
16:05 Steadman Kondor i'll have a hunt for them
16:05 Steadman Kondor it sounds like a great theme for a future monthly gazette edition
16:05 Elfbiter Skysmith (elfbiter) Some landmarks could be nice...
16:05 Tali Rosca I knew of some language classes way back, but I have not kept up. If anybody know any, please tell us.
16:05 Ravelli Ormstein there used to be English lessons in Munich
16:06 Tali Rosca It would be a convenient reference to have at hand.
16:06 Wordsmith Jarvinen It would, yes.
16:06 Phrynne I have just searched for English lessons in SL, and found dozens of entries.
16:06 Carl Metropolitan I was just wondering. I thought the gazette said the new lecture hall was out in Oxbridge Village.
16:06 Jules Doghouse thank you all for what you do here Cal Ox is splendid
16:06 Martini Discovolante not to the public.. it is not finished.
16:06 Wordsmith Jarvinen There is one there, at the moment if a need demands.
16:07 Ravelli Ormstein the lecture hall in the village is not ready, just a copy of the WIP version, for the case we need a place to host more
